Grayce Davis-Baxter Memorial Fund

Ensuring that no student is left out due to a lack of funds
In November, 2009, the Lyle Davis Family established the Grayce Davis-Baxter Memorial Fund through the Frankenmuth Community Foundation to honor their mother and grandmother. This fund will allow the school district to offer additional preschool scholarships beginning with the 2010 school year. Future contributions to the Grayce Davis-Baxter Memorial Fund through the Frankenmuth Community Foundation will be invested for additional scholarships – with the goal of ensuring that all children in the community have access to the academic and social benefits that preschool offers.

Criteria for Selection:
In an attempt to carry out the wishes of the Donor, the following criteria for the awarding of the scholarship(s) for a Pre—School program in the Frankenmuth School District and the St. Lorenz Lutheran School have been determined and will be overseen by the Selection Committee as defined below:

1. The applicant(s) must be a pre-school student(s) who is a resident of Bridgeport or Frankenmuth, attends the Frankenmuth School District or St. Lorenz Lutheran Pie-school Program and whose ages range between 2 1/2 to 5 1/2 years of age.
2. The applicant(s) must be planning to attend the Frankenmuth School District or St. LorenzLutheran Pre—School Program on a fiill or part time basis.
3. Selection shall also be based on the financial need of the student(s). Prior to the scholarship being awarded the Parents must at a minimum pay the first month’s tuition payment and theregistration fee set by the school district or by St. Lorenz Lutheran School.
4. The Selection Committee may also review the applicant’s academic and other skills which will be determined by the Frankemnuth School District or St. Lorenz Lutheran Pre~School Program.
5. The scholarship(s) will be awarded without regard to sex, race, religion, place of birth, or personal handicap.
6. The needs based criteria to demonstrate financial need will be determined by the Selection Committee and be a part of the application process.
