Frankenmuth High School Scholarship

In an attempt to carry out the wishes of the Donor, the following criteria for the awarding of the scholarship have been determined and will be overseen by the Selection Committee as defined below:

1. Application Announcement: The availability of applications for this scholarship will be announced annually by the Frankenmuth High School Guidance Department each year. The winner will be announced at the Frankenmuth High School honors program. A standardized application shall be used for this scholarship.

2. Selection Criteria:
  • The applicant must be a member of the current graduating class of Frankenmuth High School.
  • The applicant must demonstrate academic skills by having a grade point of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking courses generally regarded as college preparatory.
  • The applicant must be planning to attend a college or university full-time, and prior to distribution of the scholarship funds must be accepted and enrolled.
  • The applicant must demonstrate service to his or her school, church, or community through active participation.
  • Consideration will be given to involvement in Student Council, Student Government, or leadership experience in other extracurricular activities.
  • Consideration will be given to Participation in athletics or other inter-school activities.
  • Selection shall not be based on financial need; however, consideration will be given to the financial need of the applicant.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have successfully completed the Insurance Leadership Academy.
  • The scholarship will be awarded without regard to sex, race, religion, place of birth, or personal handicap.
3. Selection Committee – the selection committee for the scholarship shall be selected by the Board of Governors of the Frankenmuth Community Foundation. The committee may be comprised of the following:

  • The District Superintendent
  • The District Assistant Superintendent
  • The Principal of the high school
  • The Assistant Principal of the high school
  • The Director of Counseling and Guidance
  • A faculty representative from the high school
  • A Board of Governor member of the Frankenmuth Community Foundation
  • Two representatives from the sponsoring company

This group shall act as the selection committee and their selection shall be final.
