Children of Employees Scholarship

In an attempt to carry out the wishes of Frankenmuth Insurance, the following criteria for the awarding of the scholarship have been determined and will be overseen by the Frankenmuth Community Foundation General Scholarship Committee (Selection Committee) as defined below:

1. Application Announcement: The availability of applications for this scholarship will be announced annually by the Frankenmuth Insurance Scholarship Committee.

2. Selection Criteria:
  • The applicant must have a parent or legal guardian who is a current employee of Frankenmuth Insurance.
  • The applicant must demonstrate academic skills by having a grade point of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • The applicant must be a current full-time college student or planning to attend a college or university full-time, and prior to distribution of the scholarship funds must be accepted and enrolled.
  • Consideration will be given to applicants who are pursuing a degree in insurance, risk management, business, or related field.
  • The applicant must demonstrate service to his or her school, church, or community though active participation.
  • Consideration will be given to participation in athletics or other inter-school activities.
  • Consideration will be given to involvement in Student Council, Student Government, or leadership experience in other extracurricular activities.
  • Consideration will be given to applicants who have successfully completed the Insurance Leadership Academy.
  • Selection shall not be based solely on financial need; however, consideration will be given to the financial need of the applicant.
  • The scholarship will be awarded without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, weight, height, marital or family status or any other status in any group protected by local, state, or federal law.
  • No scholarship may be awarded under this program to any applicant who is a recipient of any other scholarship sponsored by Frankenmuth Insurance for the same academic year.
3. Selection Committee – Scholarship recipients will be chosen by the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee’s decisions shall be final, and this group shall be comprised of members according to the Frankenmuth Community Foundation policies.

4. Scholarship Announcement – The Frankenmuth Insurance Scholarship Committee is responsible for informing the recipients of the scholarship.
